Died • E. Earle Ellis, prolific New Testament scholar and founder of Institute for Biblical Research, on March 2 near Fort Worth, Texas. He was 83.
Died • Tokunboh Adeyemo, longtime head of the Association of Evangelicals in Africa and Nigerian scholar who oversaw the African Bible Commentary, on March 18 in Nairobi, Kenya.
Retired • Gary Streit, president of Malone University, in February after admitting to plagiarism in a January 13 chapel speech.
Resigned • Don Wildmon, as chairman of the American Family Association, known for its morality-based boycotts, due to health problems. The 72-year-old will be succeeded by his son Tim.
Died • Gene Stoltzfus, founder of Christian Peacemaker Teams, died of a heart attack March 10 in Ontario. He was 69.
Died • B.O. Baker, noted Southern Baptist evangelist and pastor, on February 18 in Plano, Texas. He was 86.
Appointed • Christopher Hill, protégé of T.D. Jakes, as senior pastor of Denver megachurch Heritage Christian Church, now called Potter's House Church of Denver.
