Recent deaths, hires, and other transitions in the Christian world.

DiedE. Earle Ellis, prolific New Testament scholar and founder of Institute for Biblical Research, on March 2 near Fort Worth, Texas. He was 83.

DiedTokunboh Adeyemo, longtime head of the Association of Evangelicals in Africa and Nigerian scholar who oversaw the African Bible Commentary, on March 18 in Nairobi, Kenya.

RetiredGary Streit, president of Malone University, in February after admitting to plagiarism in a January 13 chapel speech.

ResignedDon Wildmon, as chairman of the American Family Association, known for its morality-based boycotts, due to health problems. The 72-year-old will be succeeded by his son Tim.

DiedGene Stoltzfus, founder of Christian Peacemaker Teams, died of a heart attack March 10 in Ontario. He was 69.

DiedB.O. Baker, noted Southern Baptist evangelist and pastor, on February 18 in Plano, Texas. He was 86.

AppointedChristopher Hill, protégé of T.D. Jakes, as senior pastor of Denver megachurch Heritage Christian Church, now called Potter’s House Church of Denver.
