What is the theological definition of vocation?

Without diminishing the central thread and definition of work, Tom Nelson says that vocation is more than work. Vocation is a calling, which must include a Caller and Creator. He points to Genesis 1-2 to demonstrate that we were created in a certain way to accomplish a certain task with and for God.
