Style: Classic R&B with a hint of gospel; compare to Whitney Houston, Mary J. Blige, Mary Mary
Top Tracks: "I Got This," "I Remember Me," "Believe"
From American Idol, to the loss of three family members in 2008, to her spokesperson gig with Weight Watchers, Jennifer Hudson's personal journey has never been far from the spotlight. I Remember Me recounts that journey with confidence, hope and a powerful voice. Most extraordinary may be each track's complete positivity, even in light of tragic circumstances. The title track acknowledges life's pain, but counters it with strength that "Believe" suggests comes from "the truth in the words written in red." With this attitude, Hudson remains a strong role model for young women in addition to a dynamite R&B artist.
