Style: Friendly power pop; compare to Eleventyseven, Avril Lavigne, John Reuben
Top tracks: "(Hey) I Want It," "Cinnamon & Lipstick," "F.M.S.T.A.T.I.C."
Here we have another case of a Christian pop act that aims to be too many things at once. FM Static starts off its fourth album with a trio of songs pointed at the tween crowd, filled as they are with earworm hooks and choruses (not to mention some regrettable rapping), before moving into the heartstring-pulling anthems ("Last Train Home") and angry missives on such societal ills as spousal abuse ("Black Tattoo"). Each side of their hexagonal personality is fine on its own, but mixed up like this, just makes for an uneven, but reasonably palatable hodgepodge.
