Gideon Strauss suggests that three things contribute to our narrow theology of mission: a narrow understanding of God's mission is the world; a narrow understanding of what it means to be image-bearers; and a narrow understanding of eschatology. When we are willing to reexamine mission, we see that evangelism and the proclamation of the gospel are at the heart of God's purpose.
