Style: Ethereal, thoughtful pop; compare to Sarah McLachlan, Natalie Imbruglia
Top tracks: "Voyage," "The Mover," "Valley of Vision"
After a nice CCM run through the 1990s, Out of the Grey mostly dropped out of the spotlight. Fans of Christine Dente's lovely voice will be thrilled to hear it again on this project, inspired by The Valley of Vision book of Puritan prayers. Dente says that "reciting these prayers helped me slowly absorb the beauty and meaning inside the unfamiliar language." She has repurposed some of those prayers into ten acoustic pop songs here; highlights include "Valley of Vision," alluding to finding joy in sorrow, and "The Mover," focusing on the Spirit and the mystery of regeneration.
