Gideon Strauss: The Professionalization of Church

How have corporate ideas of business helped and hindered the church?

Gideon Strauss argues that there are advantages and disadvantages to the professionalization of the church. In one sense, a well-run church is appealing, resonating with a business culture that desires efficiency and quality. On the other hand, a "corporate church" may have the potential to limit the type, amount, and quality of vocational discipleship that could benefit its parishioners.
