At 7 A.M. on September 16, as many as 2 million secondary and college students in several countries, including about 50 who gathered next to Lenin’s tomb, met in public places to pray for worldwide religious awakening. “See You at the Pole” National Day of Student Prayer was promoted by National Network of Youth Ministries. Last year’s event drew around one million participants and was marked by reports of resistance from some school administrators (CT, Jan. 13, 1992, p.54), but organizers said few such incidents were reported this year.
